How to Sync a Zoom H4n Audio Recorder with any Tentacle Sync Timecode Generator
If you record audio on a Zoom H4n Pro alongside a Tentacle Sync timecode generator, syncing your files in post doesn't have to be a headache. Tentacle Sync Studio handles the heavy lifting—here's the quick workflow.
1. Drag and drop your files in. Pull the WAV files straight off your Zoom H4n Pro and drop them into Tentacle Sync Studio. The app reads the embedded timecode automatically.
2. Delete the LTC files. Your H4n Pro records a channel carrying the Tentacle's LTC (Longitudinal Timecode) signal—useful for syncing, but not something you want in your final audio. Once Tentacle Sync Studio has read and applied the timecode, delete those LTC-only files from the batch.
3. Export the rest. What's left are your clean, timecode-stamped audio files. Click the Media button to export them, ready to drop straight into your NLE and line up automatically with your video.
That's it—no manual clap-sync required.
