Polyjuice Potion

Last updated October 26, 2026

A bright green, herbal gin cocktail inspired by Harry Potter. Made with fresh cucumber, spinach, lime, and green Chartreuse.

Actual shape-shifting not guaranteed.

Makes: 1 cocktail (plus extra concentrate)

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Polyjuice Concentrate (recipe below)

  • 1 oz gin

  • ½ oz freshly squeezed lime juice

  • ½ oz green Chartreuse

Instructions

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

  2. Add the Polyjuice Concentrate, gin, freshly squeezed lime juice, and green Chartreuse.

  3. Shake well.

  4. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

A Couple of Notes

Fresh lime juice: Always freshly squeezed. Seriously.

Green Chartreuse: Don't substitute yellow Chartreuse. It's much too mellow for this cocktail.

Polyjuice Concentrate

The secret ingredient that gives Polyjuice Potion its distinctive green color. No magic required.

Ingredients

  • 1 English cucumber

  • 1 large handful fresh spinach

Instructions

  1. Roughly chop the cucumber and add it to a blender with the spinach.

  2. Blend until smooth.

  3. Transfer the mixture to a jar and set aside.

“Set aside” is fancy-speak for “don't throw it out.”
